Artist Group Statement

Global Alien was an international artist collective active from 2005 to 2015, with a central hub of members based in Berlin. Their work explored the fragmented nature and effects of globalization, as well as issues of power dynamics and cultural identity.

Engaging with the aesthetic dimensions of social and urban realities, Global Alien developed participatory formats in the form of playful, game-like performances. Their approach invited audiences to co-create meaning through interaction. Each project aimed to establish a fluid, performative space that fostered continuous exchange with local contexts—seeking to transcend borders and connect with others in the places we find ourselves.
